Welcome to Coonabarabran for the Northwest Equestrian Expo Cup Day Showcase Sprint over 1100m on a Good 4 track under overcast skies. Punters looking at the early betting boards will find Mister Bianco sitting at the top of the win market order, closely followed by Crook, Smart And Dapper, and Fetes Des Meres in a competitive sprint field where tactical speed will play a major role on this tight circuit.

The market leader Mister Bianco brings strong credentials here, having put up a great effort when first up under a new trainer to lead from pillar to near the post in the Quality Handicap at Port Macquarie after a strong win at the Gold Coast. Carrying a hefty weight from barrier 3, this on-pacer is well equipped to take some stopping. Another key player near the head of calculations is Crook, who lines up from barrier 6 with early speed that suits this track well. This runner has been remarkably consistent, coming off a great run at Dubbo and just falling short at Coonamble in solid benchmark company, suggesting another bold showing is on the cards.

Further down the line, Smart And Dapper is drawn wide in barrier 12 and maps as an on-pacer who will look to inject pace into the yarn. Coming off a determined second at Tamworth behind the winner after setting the tempo, a place performance looks within reach. Meanwhile, Fetes Des Meres drops back in trip after issuing a decent challenge in a benchmark test over 1400m at Dubbo, making the mare an interesting inclusion for exotics as the race unfolds.
