Naracoorte hosts a Benchmark 66 handicap over 1100 metres on a good track in fine weather at 4:40 pm AEDT. The market is led by Streetcar Fury, followed by Murph, then Naralinga and Acappella Moon. Streetcar Fury carries the shortest odds despite some question marks: the gelding is resuming after 23 weeks away and maps poorly from barrier 1 at this track, yet boasts an impressive 3-2-1 record on first-up and stepped out in group company last campaign. Murph sits next in the betting and returns after 18 weeks for Paul Carey, carrying a rating of 81. The gelding is a dual winner at 1100 metres and hit the line hard last start, though takes a negative jockey change with Jacob Opperman aboard.

Naralinga, third in the market, is the form guide's story so far. Trainer D I Dodson's stable is outperforming market expectations by 32 per cent and posting a profitable 21 per cent return on turnover across the last 100 runners. Naralinga herself won at Bordertown last time out, shouldering 62 kilograms and battling home in a BM64, then ran a brave second at Mount Gambier over 1200 metres in the BM66 off just 62 kilograms again. She has had 42 days to settle into this preparation and the AAP comment notes she is having a good prep. With Ashlee Stone's services and a barrier 3 draw, she rates well. Acappella Moon, the fourth choice, resuming after 24 weeks for Hannah Bryce, has a standout first-up record with one win and a place from five attempts. The jockey-trainer combo with Connor Murtagh is performing 169 per cent above market expectations, which tells its own story about value.

Gusty Way, winner last start and with solid track knowledge at Naracoorte, holds genuine claims from barrier 6 with Campbell Rawiller aboard. The speedGroups show three runners will race onpace—O'Tycoon, Streetcar Fury, and Gusty Way—while Naralinga, Murph, and Acappella Moon will come from offpace, giving the latter a traditional running line. Artissi, rated a chance at 11 per cent better than the market expects from its map, ran on hard last time and sits midfield. The race shapes as a genuine contest between resumers and fresh types, with the form and first-up records suggesting this is no walkover for the market leader.
