Albury hosts a Class 1 handicap over 1000 metres on a good track in fine conditions at 5:43 pm AEDT on Friday, and the market has wrapped its arms around Elastane Miss as the one to beat, with Calais Bliss sitting second in the win order and Babushka's Pride third. The speedMap tells a tactical story: Calais Bliss leads from barrier 10, while Elastane Miss, Noteabeel, and Texas Open sit offpace, and a cluster of onpace runners—Alice Alice, Babushka's Pride, Tully's Bell, and Jenni Divine—are poised in the middle lanes to pounce.

Elastane Miss looks the logical pick despite the odds. Fresh off a Wagga fifth at this 1000-metre trip and a Wagga placing at 1400 metres, the mare's form line reads solid and the AAP comment flags her as key chance. That said, there's a rider change and trainer Wayne Carroll is only striking at 9%, which tempers enthusiasm. Calais Bliss brings a hotter narrative: Josh Richards and Maddison Collins are outperforming the market by 41 per cent, and while the mare hasn't broken through at Albury, her recent second at Wagga over 1000 metres in Class 1 is the sort of form that sticks. Babushka's Pride resumes after 20 weeks and her lone career win came over 1400 metres at this track, so the 1000 metres asks fresh questions; Emma Ly's jockey ROI suggests sharp riding, but a long spell is always a gamble.

Alice Alice's AAP note—'at best, a place hope'—is candid, yet Doug Gorrel is firing at 56 per cent above market and his stable runners are profitable at 41 per cent. Noteabeel, fifth in the market, teams that hot Damon Budler and A L Mcrae combination (44 per cent overperformance) with a profitable stable, and while form is patchy, the yard is knocking up winners. Iroquai sits last in the market from barrier 11, but Quayde Krogh and Michael Travers are a struggling combo. The narrative here leans toward the stronger hands at the top, yet there's value lurking if you back the form line and the yard angles running hot.
