Morphettville's BM70 legacy race kicks off at 6:10 pm AEDT over 1400 metres on a Good 3 track under overcast skies—a genuine staying test that should sort out the pretenders from the genuine article. The market is led by Ronny Bee, who sits shortest in the win order, with Imamanzor and Alpine Flyer fighting for the next market positions. Midlife Crisis completes the shorter-priced quartet. The race shape looks set for a genuine tactical puzzle: three leaders are mapped to take it up early—Brave Apache from barrier one, Nasho from 11, and Flaming Navy from 12—while Midlife Crisis and Imamanzor sit poised on pace to pounce if that tempo suits.

Ronny Bee's the market favourite and it's hard to argue with the numbers. The Wayne Brown stable is running at plus 321 per cent of market expectation with jockey Will Price, and this bloke has absolutely thrived in the recent form line. He won the Grafton Guineas back in July and came back second run back at Morphettville with real purpose, making up ground late off an extended spell. The form card reads like a punter's dream: three-run form here is nought two one, and he's proven over the 1400. Imamanzor, rated 89 by the book, brings genuine credentials of his own. Connor Murtagh's runner showed real zest last start, running on hard from the back at this venue over 1200 metres, and the move up to the staying distance suits perfectly. Sarah Rutten's outfit knows how to prime them second run back, and Imamanzor's early speed gives him tactical options in what could be a hot pace scenario.

Midlife Crisis shouldn't be overlooked—a claiming apprentice on board and fresh off a narrow Murray Bridge miss that nearly came off. The horse rates at 77, has won first-up before, and the Kirsten Mooney stable is firing at plus 47 per cent. Jilladora maps as the fast finisher with the quickest sectionals last start and a sharp 1-3-1-3 recent four-start form line, though she'll need the pace to run through. This race feels like it could come down to whether the early speed controls or burns themselves out over the 1400—a genuine contest where opinion runs through the top three or four.
