Welcome to Gatton for the Book In Your Work Xmas Party – Friday 4Th Dec Race Day Hcp (55) over 1400m. The track is rated a soft 6 with rain falling for this restricted 55 handicap battle. Looking at how the win market has shaped up early, punters have lined up behind Kharif sitting right at the head of affairs. Following closely in the market order we find Flying Celica, Far Cry, and Oakfield Montana rounding out the top echelon of the betting. Conditions will certainly test them all as they sort out their positions in the going.

Diving into the form lines behind those shorter prices, Kharif comes off a midfield finish at Ipswich over 1666m where the runner finished off evenly through the line, preceded by a sixth at the Sunshine Coast over 1800m. The step back in distance here could suit the offpace runner. Flying Celica brings a fourth at the Sunshine Coast over 1600m and a sixth at Warwick over 1500m for a new trainer, showing enough grit to suggest a bold showing. Far Cry lines up after a couple of tough runs, including a sixth at Ipswich over 1666m and another sixth at Grafton over 1410m, so the stable will be hoping the drop in trip sparks improvement.

Further down the winMarketOrder, Oakfield Montana enters with a last-start win at Ipswich over 1350m after leading throughout, though this will be the first time the galloper tackles Gatton. Speed maps show Il Cubo taking up the running from barrier nine, while runners like Kharif, Far Cry and Flying Celica settle off the pace, and Change The Deel anchors the field from the back. It all sets up a fascinating yarn on a wet afternoon as the punters search for value in a tricky Gatton test.
