Welcome to Taree for the Allan Bakewell Memorial Krambach Sprint, a Showcase Plate for Class 2 runners over 1250m on a Soft 7 surface with overcast skies hanging about. Punters eyeing off the win market have landed on Santatime sitting at the top of the order, closely followed by Broken Wings, Explosive Tycoon, and City Of Tears rounding out the early fancies in what shapes as a tricky betting affair.

Taking a closer look at the form behind those shorter prices, Santatime resumes here after a twenty-five-week break for Glen Milligan, having previously tackled much stronger races at Randwick and Scone last preparation. Form insights note a sharp effort when nabbed on the wire fresh at Port Macquarie last campaign, making this fresh run a fascinating watch. Meanwhile, City Of Tears comes off a game effort at Grafton in soft going, and Broken Wings was not disgraced in similar ground at this track, adding plenty of substance to the top end of the market.

Looking further down the card, speed maps suggest we will see Maracaibo Sun and City Of Tears pushing forward from their barriers as leaders, while runners like Introducing, Warbreccan, and Prize Writer settle on-pace. Explosive Tycoon also warrants a mention down the order, having worked hard at both ends before being narrowly outpointed in soft going at Taree last time out. It all points to a tactical contest where the early speed runners will try to pinch a break on the chasers.
