Welcome to Taree where the track is rated a Soft 7 under an overcast sky for this Benchmark 66 over the 2000m trip, jumping at 1:10 pm AEDT. Looking at how punters have lined up the win market, Prince Is Game finds himself sitting at the top of the order. Following closely right behind him in the market is Purple Kitty, with Pelevecchio holding down the next spot and Thinkin' Bo You rounding out the four runners heading to the post.

The form behind those shorter prices tells an interesting yarn for this staying contest. Prince Is Game comes into this on a short back-up for trainer M J Robinson, steered by Luke Rolls from barrier 1 after an impressive win over 1800m at Port Macquarie where he clocked the fastest overall finishing sectionals last start, and he handles the wet conditions well. Purple Kitty jumps from barrier 3 for P Cheers with Liam Riordan aboard, arriving on a quick back-up after trying hard right behind the stablemate last time out at Port Macquarie and could look to turn the tables over this further distance.

Digging a bit deeper into the data pack, Pelevecchio starts from barrier 2 with Jenny Duggan steering for M P Quinn, dropping in class here after never getting into the race over 1808m at Port Macquarie. In the speed department, Purple Kitty is set to take up an on-pace position from barrier 3, while the rest of the field including Pelevecchio, Prince Is Game, and Thinkin' Bo You map out to settle midfield. Thinkin' Bo You is worth a mention further down the market order for D Simonetta after running on late from last at the turn over 1808m last start, making for an intriguing puzzle for punters looking for value.
