Welcome to Gosford for race number six on the card, where a competitive field of stayers line up for The Ary, Toukley Plate Class 1 over the 2030m trip. The track is rated good four under fine skies, setting up a proper test over a middle distance. Looking at how punters have treated the win market early, Freddie Bassett holds down the mantle as the shortest elect, closely followed by Scoish Maloish, Liyah's Girl, and Mission Strike rounding out the leading quartet in the betting order.

Taking a closer look at the form behind those shorter prices reveals some interesting yarns. Freddie Bassett jumps from barrier three for Annabel and Rob Archibald with Tom Sherry in the saddle, coming off a fifth at Newcastle over the 1900m where he only got picked off late after showing good early dash, which points to him enjoying this drop back in class. Meanwhile, Liyah's Girl for Matthew Smith brings early speed from barrier one and wasn't disgraced when fifth over 2000m at Canberra. Another key player in the market is Scoish Maloish, trained by Marc and Mitchell Conners, who chased hard when a close fourth over 1800m at Hawkesbury and previously placed at this very track, suggesting this rise in distance could suit.

Freshened. Tough and honest when just behind the minors in the 3yo+ Mdn Plate at Hawkesbury when second-up. Placed only other run at Gosford. Sharper now, not out of it.
