Welcome to Narromine for the Three Rivers Machinery BM50 over 1300m on a Soft 7 track under overcast skies. Punters looking at the win market see Extreme Merger holding down the top of the betting order, closely followed by Commando Jack, Commander Meroo, and Rocky Rich as the early market elect. With a full field assembled over the 1300m trip on ground that has some give in it, this provincial handicap shapes as a proper tactical affair where getting the right run from the gates will make all the difference to the yarn.

Taking a look at the form behind those shorter prices, Commando Jack brings some appealing claims after going down fighting by a narrow margin when placing at Forbes over 1400m. Trainer David J Smith has this runner on a quick back-up, and coming off a performance that featured the fastest overall finishing sectionals last start, he maps to get a nice midfield trip from barrier 2 under Jake Pracey-Holmes. On the other side of the ledger, Extreme Merger heads the market for Ms J Clement from barrier 9 with Gabrielle Johnston in the saddle, though recent form has tapered off following an eighth at Armidale, meaning punters have to weigh up a bounce-back effort.

Digging a bit deeper into the wider form lines, Rocky Rich is another stepping out on a quick back-up for Kylie Kennedy from barrier 10, though comments suggest he is best viewed as a rough place hope after being too far back at Coonamble. Meanwhile, Justo's Rocket maps as the lone leader from barrier 8, which could give W T Martyn's runner every chance to dictate terms if allowed to roll along comfortably in front.
