Welcome to Nowra for the Crookhaven Rokk Oysters Mdn Plate over the 1400m journey on a good three track with an overcast sky. Punters looking at the early win market order will find Viva Viva heading calculations, closely followed by Adaptation, Gianluca, and Eternal Torment rounding out the top four in the betting ring. It sets up an intriguing maiden contest where local knowledge and barrier draws could play a massive part in how the race unfolds from the start at 3:20 pm AEDT.

Taking a closer look at the form behind those shorter prices, Viva Viva comes in fresh here for stable trainer Ms A Turner after battling home okay at Kembla Grange over 1600m and recording a solid third prior to that. Winona Costin takes the reins, riding in good touch. Adaptation is another prominent hope from the G Ryan and S Alexiou yard, lining up from barrier two with Tom Sherry aboard. Although coming off an ordinary performance in a small field at Kembla Grange over 1300m, this runner has placed previously and might find this distance suitable to make an impact.

Further down the race book, several other runners offer interesting form lines and stable angles. Gianluca jumps from barrier five for trainer K J Parker and jockey Chad Lever, knowing this Nowra track well after keeping the effort going to finish among the placings here last time out over 1200m, suggesting the extra ground here will be a distinct plus. Meanwhile, Eternal Torment represents the powerful C Maher stable on debut from barrier three with Brodie Loy steering. This $200k purchase is out of a full sister to a Group One winner and has shown some ability in barrier trials, making it an intriguing runner well worth keeping an eye on as the race unfolds.
