Welcome to Bathurst for a cracking little 1100m maiden plate on a Soft 5 track with fine weather overhead for this 2:00 pm AEDT jump. Looking over the early win market, punters have zeroed in on Dwight as the one to beat, holding down the top of the betting order. Right behind in the market scuffle come Elegant Anders, Diamond Dice, and Apiarist, setting up an intriguing puzzle for the racebook followers tracking the yarn unfold on course today.

Taking a closer look at the form lines for those shorter in the market, Dwight comes in for Jason Attard with Winona Costin steering from barrier 5. This runner fought hard but was outpointed late when running fourth over 1250m at Newcastle after a fifth at Illawarra Grange, and the speed map has them tagged right up as the leader to dictate terms. Diamond Dice is another drawing attention, trained by Richard Litt and ridden by Keagan Latham from barrier 7, kicking off a second campaign after some quiet Warwick Farm trials that suggest maturity upside.

Further down the speed map and form columns, Apiarist for trainer C Maher represents an interesting backmarker angle with Louise Day in the saddle from barrier 6, coming off a nice trial second at Rosehill behind some solid early prep work. Seven-race maiden but has managed to finish second; solid run when fourth at Newcastle last Tuesday in a handicap; been struggling to get his head in front recently so unlikely to trouble the principals.
