Welcome to Bathurst for the Newmarket Saddlery Country Boosted Mdn Hcp over 1200m on a Soft 5 track with fine weather. The win market has Mi Piace heading up calculations, closely followed by Orchid Boy, De Razilly, and Listen To Win in the early order. It is shaping up as a fascinating tactical affair over the six furlongs with plenty of runners capable of finding a forward position early on.

Taking a look at the form behind those shorter prices, Mi Piace comes in with early runs that have caught the eye, including a solid third at Dubbo over 1000m where she ran on for the minors at her second race start. Drawn nicely in barrier 1 with Winona Costin steering for trainer Angus Stewart, she is bred to handle this step up and gets every chance from the inside alley. Meanwhile, Listen To Win for trainer M R Mulholland and jockey Jacob Stiff drops back in distance after keeping the line well without threatening at Orange over 1400m following a lengthy absence, and should appreciate the lighter weight with the claim.

Looking further down the field and tracking the speed groups, Orchid Boy maps to lead from barrier 2 for Andrew Ryan and Chad Lever, looking to bounce back from a wide-draw failure at Dubbo and returning to the Bathurst track where he previously tackled this 1200m trip. De Razilly is another on-pace runner building fitness under Deon Le Roux for N J Olive, while Checkout Chick lurks as a backmarker with the fastest overall finishing sectionals from the previous start ready to pounce if the leaders overdo it up front.
