Welcome to Belmont for some Wednesday afternoon racing on a fine surface rated Good 4. The Quayclean Mdn over 1000m has attracted a fascinating field of maidens where the punters have zeroed in on a few key hopes early. Looking at the win market order, That Is Justice holds down the mantle of the shortest runner, closely followed by Keppel Gate, Incredible Mr Fox, and Fair Machino rounding out the leading quartet in betting as we get set for a cracking race at 4:55 pm AEDT.

The form behind those shorter prices tells an interesting story for punters trying to line up the yarn. Keppel Gate comes in for Simon Miller with Chris Parnham steering from barrier 10, carrying 54kg, having run on well last start when finishing third over 1000m at Northam; the maps show this runner is suited at the track and can let down strongly over the short trip. Meanwhile, Incredible Mr Fox lines up for D R Harrison from barrier 1 with Paul Harvey aboard, coming off a solid third over 1000m at Northam on a quick back-up where it showed early speed.
