Welcome to Bendigo for the Brb Electrical (Bm66) over 2400m on a good4 track with fine weather. The win market order has Melek heading the betting line, closely followed by Yahoo Bar, Celtic Park, and Salsita rounding out the initial fancies for this staying test. Punters looking to dissect the yarn should find plenty of tactical intrigue as the field sorts out their positions over the middle distance journey, with Yahoo Bar expected to roll forward from barrier 12 to take up the leader role in the early stages of the race.

Melek comes into this with strong claims after showing plenty of promise in a short career, including a runner-up finish at Ballarat and a hard-running third at Seymour over 2000m. The lightly raced runner is joined by John Allen for trainer C Maher and holds the top rating in the field. Meanwhile, Yahoo Bar is another key protagonist, coming off a narrow defeat at Seymour where the Liam Howley-trained galloper raced on the pace and went down in a thrilling stoush. With apprentice Bailey Kinninmont retaining the mount, this contender is looking for the 2400m trip now and is expected to play a major role from the front. Salsita also demands respect after showing plenty of fight to win at Seymour over 2000m previously, though the E & D Browne stable runner cops more weight for that latest victory in this grade.
