Welcome to Bendigo for the running of the Ladbrokes Bendigo Cup over the 2400m test of stamina. The track is rated a good4 under fine skies, setting up a proper staying contest for this group 3 open handicap. Looking at the win market early doors, punters have zeroed in on So You Are holding the mantle as the shortest priced runner in the field. Following closely behind in the market order we find Kings Valley sitting next, with Litzdeel and Suntora rounding out the leading fancies as the yarn begins to unfold on this quality country cup.

The form behind these shorter prices points to some serious staying credentials. So You Are brings compelling recent efforts, having fought on determinedly to take out the ATC St Leger Stakes at Randwick over 2600m before a win at Rosehill over this 2400m journey, and the stable partnership with Bjorn Baker has the mare humming along nicely with Rachel King steering from barrier one. Kings Valley has been ultra-consistent without winning this campaign for trainer C Maher, coming off a ripper of a run at Flemington behind Juja Kibo over 2500m. Meanwhile, Litzdeel backs up quickly after a battling fifth in the Geelong Cup following a solid placing in The Bart Cummings at Flemington.

Further down the order, tactical maps show plenty of early dash with runners like Starford, Machine Gun Gracie, and See That Storm looking to push forward alongside the leader The Euphrates, while backmarker Soulcombe will look to swoop late. Suntora also commands respect after running a cracking race when just edged out in the Herbert Power at Caulfield over 2400m.
