Welcome to Dalby for the Graincott Farming Co Hcp (C1) over 1400m on a Soft 5 track with fine weather overhead. It is a competitive Class 1 affair where the punters have cast their early eyes over the field and established the win market order. Royal Diplomat heads the market as the shortest runner, followed closely by Express Star, Bate, and Southoftheborder rounding out the top four in betting as they prepare to battle it out.

Looking into the form behind those shorter prices, Royal Diplomat comes out of a run at Warwick over 1500m where the run was plain, though it is worth noting this runner is a previous winner at the track and distance. Bate also steps out here following a run at Warwick in Class 2 grade where there was no real threat, but the booking of Jess Emmerson brings an interesting angle with the rider outperforming their career average. Express Star brings a solid effort at Stanthorpe over this exact 1400m trip where it was not disgraced, suggesting a hard fit profile that might suit.

Further down the race shape and field, New Prospect maps well as the lone leader from barrier 5, which could prove advantageous at this track if allowed a comfortable tempo up front. Meanwhile, runners like Southoftheborder come down in distance after battling home at Ipswich, while speed maps show multiple onpace runners like My Shalona and Life Of Tree ensuring a genuine early test for the punters looking for value.
