Welcome to Murray Bridge for the Coonara Mdn Plate over 1800m on a soft 5 surface with overcast skies overhead. The win market lines up with Empire Ruler sitting at the top of the order of preference, closely followed by Nunya, Swan Dance, and Ateyate holding down the next lines in early betting. It is a tricky maiden affair where plenty of these runners are searching for that elusive first victory, making for an interesting betting race as punters try to dissect the form lines.

Taking a closer look at the form behind those shorter prices, Empire Ruler comes into this off strong minor placings, having gone close at Gawler before displaying a fine change of gears to finish second at Strathalbyn over 2050m on a soft 5. Nunya is another getting plenty of attention, arriving as an ex-New Zealander on their third Australian start for the stable, having led and fought on bravely for second at Halidon after a lengthy absence to strip fitter here. Swan Dance returns for a second campaign following a fifteen-week break, having previously placed at Gawler on debut while building fitness through trials and showing solid early promise.

Further down the race shape, speed groups show Nunya, Majestic Glow, and Swan Dance heading forward among the leaders, while runners like Ateyate and Empire Ruler aim to settle midfield. Back from a break. Was outmuscled when 3rd last start at Balaklava on a heavy track and honest performer putting a tidy record together. Likely to be well placed early. Prominent showing expected.

Appears to be on the upgrade judged on two most recent runs; slightly disappointing, third beaten 7l, over 1m3f at Balaklava (maiden) in July; can give it a good shot as pick of form offers some encouragement.
