Welcome to Sale for the Turnbull Toyota Benchmark 70 over the 1400m journey, where the skies are raining and the track is rated a testing Heavy 10. For punters looking to unravel the yarn of this race, the win market has Wetumpka sitting right at the head of affairs. Following closely in the betting order are Hedjet, Flying Mikki, and Boltsaver, rounding out the early fancies as the field prepares to tackle the heavy conditions this afternoon at 5:05 pm AEDT.

Taking a closer look at the form behind those shorter prices, Wetumpka brings strong credentials for trainer Peter Gelagotis, having shouldered 60.5kg to victory here previously before running on gamely when placing third at Seymour. Ben Allen takes the mount from barrier 10. Meanwhile, Hedjet comes in for trainer C W McDonald with Beau Mertens steering from barrier 7, having broken through in style with a dominant win at Geelong following a solid runner-up effort at Seymour. That overseas import form looks to have him ready to go on with it.

Came in 7th last time at Flemington but facing less formidable opponents. Interesting to see the winkers go on for the first time. Always seems to find the line well. Definite winning chance.
