Welcome to Wangaratta for the A1 Tyrepower Wangaratta Mdn Plate over 1300m on a Soft 6 track with overcast skies. It is a fascinating maiden puzzle for punters to dissect on the quick back-up of local racing yarns. Looking at the early win market order, Naval Command heads the market as the shortest runner, closely followed by Brilliant Bull Ant, Graceful Dance, and Royal Overture rounding out the leading fancies in the betting ring.

Naval Command brings some solid form lines to the table for this assignment, holding barrier 2 and steering by Dylan Dunn. This runner produced an encouraging debut performance on a soft deck at Seymour over 1200m back in May, finishing third, and has tuned up nicely with solid trials and jump-outs ahead of this fresh campaign. Meanwhile, Brilliant Bull Ant is deep into a lengthy campaign with 18 starts under the belt. Trained by Olivia Osborne and ridden by Hannah Edgley from barrier 3, this backmarker was well back and made limited headway over this venue and trip previously, but could make presence felt if the race gets hectic up front.

For punters hunting further value down the order, Royal Overture comes out of the Craig Weeding stable from barrier 7, mapping on pace. With a solid third at Wagga over 1400m on a heavy track in a previous campaign, this runner returns here following a recent trial to blow away the cobwebs. Graceful Dance is another interesting newcomer from the J E & C Ledger yard, showing decent trial form and drawing barrier 8 with Brittany Button retaining the mount for debut. Map speed shows Naval Command holding the early lead role, which should give them every possible chance if handling the conditions.

Well back and made limited headway this venue over this trip. Deep into his campaign, can make his presence felt.

ILB

On a quick turnaround. Jumped at $9.00 and came in 6th last time here. Expecting improvement here. Shows very good finishing speed. Should be in the finish.

Yet to get off the mark and losing run stands at 18 and hardly a model of consistency; not beaten too far when sixth here when close behind Tallingas Diamond (dropped back to this trip) last Monday; others more likely as meeting a number of horses who are in good form.
