Welcome to Launceston for the Trevor Jones Mdn Plate, a 1100m test for the three-year-old maidens on a good four surface under fine skies with a 6:30 pm AEDT jump. Punting keen on sorting out this puzzle see Jaggers Edge leading the win market order, closely followed by Annie's Pride and Deer Power sitting right in the thick of things. Alpinefurther holds down the next line in the betting as punters weigh up a fascinating mix of seasoned local debutants and promising trial performers ready to rumble over the short trip.

Looking at the form behind those shorter prices, Deer Power comes out of a solid fourth over this exact 1100m course here at Launceston, giving a good account in a three-year-old maiden plate when supported. Trained by Yassy Nishitani with Luke P Dempsey in the saddle, Deer Power looks sharper second-up with sound claims. Meanwhile, Annie's Pride returns from a seventy-two-day let-up after leaving a decent impression on debut at Hobart over 1100m on soft ground, with Sam Kennedy taking the steer for trainer J L Keys. That introductory run would have taught this backmarker plenty.

Further down the win market order, Jaggers Edge kicks off a first-start campaign from barrier six for trainer Sigrid Carr and jockey Troy Baker, boasting some eye-catching trial form including a comfortable win at Longford and a Hobart placing, making it one for punters to watch closely alongside the speed map featuring leaders like Zhavrafrost and Deer Power jumping fast early from wide and inside gates respectively.
