Welcome to Launceston for race seven on the card, where a competitive field of Benchmark 60 gallopers steps out over the 1100m journey. The track is rated a Good 4 under fine skies, and punters are zeroing in on an intriguing win market. Looking at the early order, Fluffy's Girl leads the betting lines, closely followed by Geegees Downpour, Brave Jet, and Material Madam as the early market fancies prepare to lock horns in this evening contest set for 8:30 pm AEDT.

Taking a closer look at the form behind those shorter prices, Geegees Downpour brings some eye-catching late sectionals to the table for trainer S Gandy and jockey Anthony Darmanin from barrier eight. This runner let down resolutely from the tail to score over 1200m here two runs back before a synthetic effort, and is capable of figuring again if the race sets up right. Meanwhile, Material Madam jumps from the inside alley with Kelvin Sanderson steering, having picked up a solid third over 1200m here prior to a minor placing run, suggesting another honest minor finish could be on the cards.

Further down the line, speed maps and stable insights offer a few extra clues for the yarn. Fluffy's Girl sits up on the pace and comes off a Launceston placegetter effort over 1100m on soft ground two starts back, marking her out as a major player despite a subsequent battling run. Brave Jet also warrants respect over this distance range, having scored a tight 1100m win here three runs back before finishing down the track over 1200m. With Dennyson tagged as the sole leader from barrier three for the J K Blacker stable, the early tempo should prove fascinating as the field sorts out their positions.

Freshened. Third run now in new stable/region. Tough and honest when just behind the minors in the (Bm60) this track second-up. Stripping fitter, has some claims.

Was $5.50 and couldn't maintain the pace throughout when 4th last time at the track. The wide draw shouldn't be a problem with plenty of early speed. Will need to find a new peak.

Fourth, beaten less than a length, when behind the reopposing Brave Jet four weeks ago; not hard to turn elsewhere as not in the habit of winning recently.
