Welcome to Cranbourne for the third event on the card, the Rsl Poppy Appeal Mdn Plate over the 1400m journey. The track is rated a Good 4 under overcast skies, setting up a proper test for this three-year-old maiden field. Taking a look at the early win market order, punters have pointed to Action Point as the one to beat, closely followed by Civic Square, Wollemi, Blue And Gold, Teen Torque, Swift Action, and Around The Marx rounding out the list.

The market leader Action Point, prepared by G M Begg and steered by Michael Dee from barrier 5, comes here wiser for his debut run at Seymour over 1200m where he found the assignment beyond him on a soft track. He is bred to appreciate getting out to 1400m second-up and has room for improvement. Civic Square, trained by G Eurell and ridden by Daniel Stackhouse from barrier 6, battled late in soft going at Geelong last time out but comes in off a Cranbourne jump-out win on 26/10 which suggests a serious player here. Meanwhile, debutant Wollemi for M Price & M Kent Jnr jumps from the inside alley with Celine Gaudray after showing promise with first and second placings at recent jump-outs.

Further down the line, Blue And Gold draws barrier 3 for Ms C Alderson and brings early speed to the contest, though the stable's runner was never sighted when second-up at Seymour. Teen Torque lines up from barrier 8 for P G Moody and Katherine Coleman as the most experienced runner in the field, seeking to improve on a recent third placing. With a mix of seasoned improvers and intriguing newcomers like Wollemi starting from barrier 1, punters should find plenty of interesting form lines to dissect in this 1400m battle.
