Welcome to Dubbo for the Burgun & Williams Optometrists (Bm66) over the staying trip of 2200m on a Good 4 track under fine skies. Looking at the early win market, D'Oro Choice leads the betting order as the shortest runner, closely followed by Godwits, Tavijewel, and Delrico rounding out the top four in the market. It is shaping up as a fascinating tactical affair over the staying distance, with leaders like Godwits and Minister Garrett expected to handle the early speed while others settle into their respective tracks.

Taking a look at the form for the shorter-priced chances, Godwits comes out of a solid effort where it made the pace and was edged out late to finish second at Bathurst over 2000m, following a close second at Dubbo over 2200m on a heavy track. Trained by Todd Smith and ridden by Jake Pracey-Holmes from barrier 4, this good staying gelding fits well against this opposition. Meanwhile, D'Oro Choice lines up for John Bannister on a quick back-up after letting down late into the placings when finishing third in a benchmark 66 over 2100m at Newcastle, proving it remains a capable stayer that can challenge again here.

Further down the market, Delrico presents an interesting case for punters after backing up quickly from a strong effort where it picked up intently to just miss in a Showcase Handicap at Coonabarabran, and maps well for this track. Tavijewel is another worth keeping an eye on, having placed in a benchmark 66 at Orange before a plain run at Bathurst, though a stronger showing is expected here. With Godwits likely to try and dictate terms from the front alongside Minister Garrett, this staying test should provide plenty of entertainment for the punters on course.

Started off strong but faded towards the end when 2nd last start at Bathurst. Always seems to find the line well. Capable type.

A C&D winner; has maintained his consistent level of form; good effort when close up at Bathurst over 1m2f (handicap) when ahead of several of these rivals two weeks ago; should not be far away.

Solid run on the pace before weakening to finish 2nd beaten by 3/4L last start at Bathurst. Displays very good closing pace. Can measure up against these.
