Race preview

Leinster plays host to the Tabtouch Benchmark 56+ over the 1400m on a good track under fine skies, with the race scheduled for 5:56 pm AEDT. Looking at the early win market order, punters have zeroed in on Blowin' Smoke as the shortest runner, closely followed by Addictive Dream, Lady Coco, and What About Moi rounding out the initial quartet in the betting order. It is shaping up as a tactical affair over the seven furlongs with speed drawn right across the map.

Taking a closer look at the form for the market principals, Blowin' Smoke comes here off a sound second at Leonora over the 1600m before shifting back to this 1400m trip, having also placed at Mingenew prior. The Malcolm Mackenzie-trained runner maps well here and looks hard fit to figure in the finish. Meanwhile, Addictive Dream is on a quick back-up after a fourth at Leonora following a sharp win at Mingenew two starts ago, and with Tara Atherden steering for R J Malpass, this speed-runner will take plenty of catching if allowed dictation up front as a leader.

Digging a bit further down the runners, What About Moi joins stablemate Blowin' Smoke in the Malcolm Mackenzie camp and is on a quick back-up after fading at Leonora over 1200m, though the slight drop back in trip and a 2kg claim might help spark improvement. Lady Coco maps well from barrier four for trainer R J Malpass and rider Ebony Johnson after chasing hard at Geraldton last time out, making her a logical inclusion for exotic players looking to spice up the yarn.
